Badge notifications are pesky. There’s no doubt about that. They also tend to enjoy remaining on your application icons and taunting you even after you’ve seen the notifications in Notification Center already. The only sure way to make sure the notification badges disappear is to painstakingly open each application that you have a notification badge for individually.

A new free jailbreak tweak called Clear Badges by iOS developer Ma Jun makes it easy to clear all badges from application icons from the home screen. The tweak comes with an SBSettings toggle to easily clear all application icon badges, as well as the function to double-tap on any application icon while in jiggle mode to clear the notification badge from it.

The tweak also includes support for QuickDo, allowing you to use a QuickDo gesture to clear all application icon badges from the home screen.

If you own Springtomize 2 already, then you already have this feature at your fingertips. Other tweaks like BadgeClear either haven’t been updated for iOS 6, or they are paid – Clear Badges is not only free, but it even works on iOS 5 and iOS 6 on any iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad.

Clear Badges has no options to configure, so if you want to remove all those notification badges quickly and easily, add Clear Badges to your jailbreak tweak arsenal!

Anyway I can clear badges by clearing the notification in NC Center? I mean that would make sense...

I could have sworn lockinfo did that but I don't see the option anywhere. maybe I hallucinated it.

the SB settings toggle makes some sense, but instead of just opening the app, you can also hold down the icons until they shake, double tap the icon, and then press the home button to get them to stop? that sounds incredibly inefficient.
