Want to add a useful new feature to your iPhone? If so, it’s time to check out a new jailbreak tweak called RaiseToCall by iOS developer Kaushal Trivedi.

RaiseToCall is a genius tweak that makes it so you can raise your iPhone to your face in the middle of text messaging or iMessaging someone to initiate a phone call with that person. The tweak works with Apple’s Messages application, as well as the insanely popular biteSMS messaging solution.

The tweak uses the iPhone’s front-facing proximity sensor to detect when the iPhone comes in contact with your face – the same proximity sensor that turns off the iPhone display when you place your iPhone against your face during a phone call.

Because the feature seems so useful, I'm shocked to see that Apple hasn't implemented something like this into iOS already. It is the small, useful features like this that could make the iPhone so much better if Apple would just listen to the jailbreak community.

RaiseToCall doesn't come with any options to configure, and it requires iOS 6 to install. Because it relies on the Phone application, the tweak is only for the iPhone.

    Name: RaiseToCall
    Price: $1.99
    Version: 1.0-1
    Requirements: iPhone running iOS 6
    Repo: BigBoss
    Developer: Kaushal Trivedi
    Editor's Rating:  5/5

I was just thinking the same thing.. but it is a simple and nice feature instead of scrolling to the top of the message app to click call..

So if you have this tweak installed and whilst in the Messages app and you put the phone face down on a table, will in ring the person you're texting?

That's a neat feature but one I doubt I'd ever use so I won't pay for it. Very cool though.

Do you guys know if this would waste more battery? Seeing as the proximity sensor would be activated all the time while using messages?

    Just curious..

That already happens on iPhone (4S and above) even when "raise to speak" is off.

I said that it's a gimmicky feature because every single person I know whose phone has this feature said that he/she never used it even once before ಠ_ಠ

No, with a gyro-scope it doesn't just sense movement it senses which way the movement is happening and uses gravity too.

Oh well.. It should work like that but it does not. I have tried to put the phone faced down to the table with bitesms opened. Do you know what happened? The call just started. Waste of money.

Totally off topic, but I wonder when you will release a "Preview Maker" update to iOS 6? I really love that app

No need to scroll to the top, just tap the top bar (clock) and instantly you are at the top to click the call button.

I "think" it was not only a feature on samsung phones, but a stock android 4.0 feature all together..... I "think".

Its also nice to see that Aumz is able to appreciate tech from the other side, just as we all should. I hang around iOS and android forums all the time and I can't stand the blind, fanboyism that exists on both sides. Its just stupid.
