Microsoft has Friday morning released their Office Mobile for Office 365 subscribers application in Apple's App Store for the first time. The application allows Office 365 subscribers to use Office features on the go from their iPhones, such as documents on the cloud, device syncing, and e-mail attachment viewing and editing.

The application allows users to make quick edits to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. Users can also create new documents and share them when finished:

Using the application requires an Office 365 subscription, which for $99 per year gives you access to Office 365 on up to 5 PCs or Macs, the ability to edit documents on the go, an additional 20GB of SkyDrive storage, and Skype world minutes.

Currently the application is only for the iPhone 4 or later, or the iPod touch 5G or later. The application doesn’t yet have support for the iPad, which will most likely be the most usable device when support is added in the future because of the larger display canvas. Notably, you must be running iOS 6.1 or later to install the application.

If you want to give Office 365 for iPhone a try, you can download it for free from this App Store link.

Free app but not really free since you need to pony up $99 to get it working. I'd rather pay a one time fee ( like if I was buying software ) than having a subscription fee every year.
