Recently released pictures appear to show a variety of plastic back panels for the rumored low-cost iPhone, displayed in bright colors that are a major shift from the current black and white models. The images were released by Nowhereelse.fr and appear to show the back panels in green, red and yellow. The parts show Apple’s logo, the iPhone brand logo, space for a camera lens, LED flash, and a rear-facing microphone.

Aside from being made of plastic and offering a slew of new colors, the parts appear to have a similar form factor to the current iPhone 5, including a taller display than previous models. This fits in with rumors that speculate that the low-cost iPhone will stick with the same 4-inch display as the iPhone 5.

The designs seem to match up with previously leaked schematics and the red and the yellow colors would correspond with the current color options for the iPod Touch, with the exception of the green model. Apple does offer the iPod nano and iPod shuffle in green variants though, which is why the colors may have some truth to them. Ultimately, we’ll have to wait for more concrete evidence though.

Low cost iphone.....i doubt it. Im thinking more along the lines of probably some cheap Chinese iphone parts manufacturer thats in the works of making an alternative iPhone 5 back panel. Especially with the explosion of the cheap knock off iphone parts market on ebay.

Those look like cheap POS's that you'd buy from China. If Apple were going to make a "cheap" version of the iPhone they would still have a nice design, nothing like that.

If they were to make a cheap iPhone it's not supposed to be attractive so to speak. It's cheap so they have to make it out if cheap parts. Prolly for use without contracts and people who can't afford a $199.99 price tag with a 2 year contract. Or can't afford a $600 phone without a contract. But then again didn't they say an iPhone 4 was gonna be on a boost mobile plan?

Why not just buy the last Gen iPhone for $99 then?

The previous generation IPhone 4s used is $400+ with no contract. Not exactly "cheap."

Then buy a new one with a contract for $99. I never mentioned buying used or without a contract. I know how much they are used, I have sold every generation of iPhone on eBay for more than what I paid for it.

Not everyone can buy a phone with contract. Contract requires things like Credit, Bank Account, Social Security Number, Utility Bills, 18 years age, etc.

Some examples would be people with poor credit, drug dealers, under 18 kids, etc.

Yea let's make sure all the drug dealers have good access to smart phones. Should they also make less expensive cars so people under 25 can rent them too?

Why shouldn't a 17 year old own an iPhone?

You don't need a less expensive car for under 25. Under 25 can rent an expensive car just fine. You just need to pay "young driver" fee.
