If you’re having problems downloading applications in Apple’s App Store Wednesday afternoon, then you’re not alone. Apparently there are some issues that have caused App Store downloads to go offline for some users.

The issue causes the above pop-up message to appear whenever the user tries to download an application from the App Store, whether it’s free or paid and whether the user owns the application already or not. The pop-up says, “Cannot connect to iTunes Store.”

According to apple's System Status Web page, the App Store is labeled as "Issue" with an orange triangle with a label that says, "Some users are affected." The issue appears to have started at around 11:20 AM Wednesday and has continued ever since:

Apple has not yet made any official announcements and has not given us any insight as to when this issue may be fixed.

Glad to hear it's known by Apple. I update my apps about once every 3 months. Doesn't it figure I just tried this morning and got this message. I thought it was because I needed 64 apps updated. LOL! Guess not.

It happened in iTunes with me! And then I tried the AppStore to see if it would work and it didn't. It's now fixed for me though.
