On Thursday, Activision launched an all-new first person and third person shooter game dubbed Call of Duty: Strike Team in the App Store as a universal application for iPhones, iPod touches, and iPads.

Activision promises a completely different shooter game experience in iOS with Call of Duty: Strike Team. Unlike much of the competition, such as the Modern Combat series, Call of Duty: Strike Team allows the user to switch between first person view and third person view on demand as they are playing.

The graphics seem pretty high definition for sure, and the game offers two fun game modes to play: campaign mode and survival mode. In campaign mode, the player will follow a story line to complete missions and earn achievements, while in survival mode, the player will use their skills to beat wave after increasingly difficult wave of enemies.

Activision notes that Call of Duty: Strike Team is not compatible with the iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4G. We assume this also means that the game cannot be run on the original iPad, or the iPhone 3GS due to the slower hardware that may not be capable of running the game smoothly. It is, however, intended to run on A5 devices and later.

You can pick up Call of Duty: Strike Team for $6.99 via this App Store link.

True but I think activision is actually the ones who make it in the case of mobile but Treyarch licenses.
