It's yet another compelling illustration of the iPhone 5s supply shortages that Apple is struggling with today.

According to a number of readers we've heard from in the last 24 hours, new online orders placed with Apple for the iPhone 5s are producing estimated shipping times of 2-3 weeks.

As recently as Thursday, Apple was still showing estimated October delivery dates for new orders. But now we are clearly in November territory.

Unfortunately, this supply shortage fiasco can be expected to worsen as the iPhone 5s goes on sale in 50 new markets between October 25th and November 1st.

It should be noted, however, that these protracted delivery estimates are not unique to the United States. iPhone 5s buyers from Canada and Australia are reporting similar shipping time estimates. New iPhone buyers in China are also being told to expect delivery in early to mid-November.

7 years in and this multi-billion dollar company is still having shortages? Yeah right. I think they're making phones to order to keep loses from having too much extra inventory. Having worked in a factory for years, I've seen these types of instructions before.

This is probably why the iPhone 5 was discontinued & we now have a "new" plastic iPhone 5C. They knew they had shortages so they wanted to make sure people had another apple product to purchase.

They are not made in a factory... each device is assembled by human hands... No matter how many workers you have you still cannot assemble devices as fast as machines could.

Step dad got his gold first day it came out was the only person in line and I got my space grey three days later at target. I don't get why people bother ordering from apple. Can you not buy then anywhere else rather than waiting two months? Like holy crap I'd die if I had to wait that long.
