On Tuesday, Twitter issued an update to their social networking application for iOS with a number of improvements, bringing the current version of the application up to version 5.12.

The update comes with huge improvements to the user’s Twitter timeline. Now, every Tweet in a user’s timeline comes with little buttons for retweeting, favoriting, or replying to Tweets directly from the timeline. This eliminates some additional steps that the user needed to take in the past to interact on Twitter.

In addition, photos and Vine videos will now appear in your Twitter feed as actual media, rather than as links. This makes it so that you don’t necessarily have to tap on the content to get a preview of it; however, not all media sources are supported yet at this point in time. If you tap on the media, you will open full-screen versions of the media making it easier to see on the smaller mobile display. These previews can be enabled or disabled on demand from Twitter's settings.

Existing users of the Twitter application for iOS will find the update under the Updates tab in the App Store application. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of the Twitter application for iOS from this App Store link for free.
