On Wednesday morning, Apple CEO Tim Cook sat down for a rare and surprisingly candid interview with CNBC.

Cook appeared live from inside of China to hype Apple's new deal with China Mobile, a partnership that AAPL investors hope will add billions to Apple's bottom line in the coming years.

The deal with China Mobile represents a "watershed" moment, Cook said this morning, two days ahead of the iPhone's launch on the world's largest mobile operator. "It's a huge announcement...we're incredibly impressed with them, we have deep respect for them," Cook explained. "We see this as bringing the world's best smartphone to the very largest and now the fastest network in China."

Cook said that the company sold more iPhones last quarter in Greater China than ever before, and sees this deal as "continuing momentum" that has been building up over the last three or four years. "It really is a key market for us," he said.
Cook reaffirmed that Apple is focusing on long term growth in China, clearly a move meant to curb Android's recent Chinese surge and give Apple more prevalence inside of this fast-growing emerging market.

Lol, no, China *is* growing, and things are beginning to look a lot better for its people. In fact, it's starting to take over the U.S.'s place in a lot of things.

Please do keep in mind that Apple isn't the only company that got its parts manufactured in ****** places, and please also keep in mind that Apple has been THE leader when it comes to putting pressure on said ****** places to improve the working conditions of the people manufacturing those parts.

Basically, Cook's saying that as China's been growing into what may very well be the next superpower, it would be silly not to establish both a good presence and relationship there.

5th poster...hhaha! Anyway, Apple is just doing what any other big business is right now...finding ways to make more money in other countries. You can apply all comments above to all big businesses. Not all are successful at branching out but that does not mean they didn't try :]

Doesn't matter. Change in history has countless times started with one man. Just. One. Man. He could be that man. Instead he And his company just wanna line their pockets like all the rest. We should all be ashamed of ourselves for supporting this corrupt and communist government. At the end of the day we all stand by and do nothing. Just ignore it and play on your iPhone. Apple is the leader right now, they should act like it.

They make our clothing and our technology. I guess he's grateful for slave labour.

Tim Crook is the archenemy of decency. Skeletor is his mentor. Tim and Apple's greed-infested management team must go.

The real hero's that created Apple's success are the rank and file engineers, developers, artists, and assembly line workers.
