In iOS 7, closing applications that are present in your App Switcher is done by swiping up on the application preview cards. Apple restricted swiping down on the application preview cards to close applications when you try to do this, the preview card will just bounce back into position and do nothing.

If you want to be able to swipe down on your application preview cards to close the applications that you have suspended, in addition to swiping up on them, then there's a new free jailbreak tweak available in Cydia by iOS developer Sirifl0w called SwipeDown that will suit your needs nicely.

With the tweak installed, you can either swipe up on application card previews or down on them, and either gesture will close an application in the App Switcher. At this point in time, the tweak doesn't support multi-touch gestures like Apple's swipe-up-to-close gesture does, so if you try to close two applications at once by swiping downwards on two application preview cards, it won't work.

SwipeDown doesn't have any options to configure, and it works exactly as expected. The tweak is only for iOS 7 devices. If you want to give the tweak a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for free.

Swiping down doesn't feel natural to me. There may be a following of people that would enjoy this tweak though.

Did you know you can close 2/3 apps at a time by using more than one finger? Only just stumbled across that!!

    Yes, if you swipe up.

But these multi-touch gestures don't work with this jailbreak tweak for swiping down just yet. The developer promises to support them in a future update.

This jailbreak is as stable as it gets. Not a single problem here.
