Normally, when you open the Messages application, it will open up to the last conversation that you had open, regardless of if you have new messages or not, and regardless if you want to compose a new message to a new person or not.

A new free jailbreak tweak called MessagePopper by iOS developer Julian Weiss is now available in Cydia's BigBoss repository that forces the Messages application to always open to the conversation list, rather than the last conversation that you had open.

With this installed, you can be sure that you're always right where you need to be to read all of your unread messages, or even compose a new message, every time that you open the Messages application. As the developer notes in the Cydia description, this functionality works similarly to a feature of biteSMS.

MessagePopper has no options to configure, and if you want to give the tweak a try, it's available for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository. The tweak requires iOS 7 to be installed.

Might help with those accidental texts sent to the wrong person too.

I hate it when I do that. The other day I texted my aunt hey motherf**ka what's up?

    Instead of texting my friend.
    It was quite awkward.

This tweak is pretty useful if you keep sending messages to the wrong people. Especially your girlfriend LOL.... She's going to kill me. I did a video on it if you guys want to see it in action.
