On Thursday, following an update to the OS X Mavericks operating system and the release of iTunes 11.2, Apple released an update for its Podcasts iOS application that houses a number of improvements for users. The latest version of Podcasts for iOS is now version 2.1.

In the update, Apple has finally added Siri integration, which allows users to ask Siri play Podcasts on their devices, or even to ask Siri to play specific Podcast stations or Podcast names.

Other improvements include re-hauls of the application's episode browsing experience, which now lets you easily find episodes you haven't watched yet, browse for episodes that are available to download, save episodes for offline use, automatically delete episodes after you've played them, and navigate out of the Podcasts application to Mobile Safari whenever tapping on links in the application.

Podcasts has also been given the CarPlay treatment, AirDrop sharing, and improvements to the stations list.

Existing users of the Podcasts application for iOS will find the update under the Updates tab in the App Store application. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of Podcasts for iOS for free from this App Store link.
