Every once in a while while you're browsing the Web in Mobile Safari, you might find a URL somewhere on a Web page that doesn't let you tap on it to open it. Instead, you have to go and tap and hold on the URL, tap on the copy button, and then go to the URL bar, and tap on the paste button and tap the return key to go to that Web page.

That seems like a lot of work just to open a Web page when a Web developer or publisher is too lazy to put in a hyperlink that you can click on, and if you're looking to make things easier for yourself, then you'll want to check out a new free jailbreak tweak called URL Open Menu by iOS developer Jea.

URL Open Menu adds a new button to the copy and paste menu labeled "Open," which makes it so you don't have to go through the copying and pasting steps just to open a new Web browsing tab. Instead, when you highlight the link and tap on open, a new Web browsing tab is opened automatically for you with the URL that you highlighted.

It doesn't matter if you highlight a bunch of text around the URL either the tweak is smart enough to detect the URL and ignore all of the surrounding text, so you don't have to worry about having an extremely accurate selection, as you can see above.

The tweak works from any Web site (we just used Google search results as an example). The tweak is also compatible with all iOS versions from iOS 5.0 to iOS 7.0.6. It won't work with third-party Web browsers though only Mobile Safari.

If you would like to give URL Open Menu a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository.
