If you've ever been in the market to change the color and text color of your Status Bar on the Home Screen or Lock Screen in iOS 7, then you will want to take a look at a new free jailbreak tweak called xStatusColor by iOS developer Alberto Torres.

Shown above, you can see how the tweak lets you change the colors of three major things; the first being the background of the Status Bar, the second being the icons (foreground) in the Status Bar, and the third being the numbers and text in the Status Bar.

The tweak will add a preferences pane to your Settings application where you can configure these settings all to your own liking:

You can enable or disable the tweak on demand, pick a background color, pick a foreground color, and pick a text color for the numbers and text. You will need to respring your device every time you enable or disable the tweak, but color changes take effect immediately without the need for a respring.

You can pick from any of the following color options:

    • Black
    • Blue
    • Brown
    • Cyan
    • Gold
    • Green
    • Magenta
    • Orange
    • Red
    • Purple
    • Teal
    • White
    • Yellow

It is worth mentioning that xStatusColor can only colorize the Status Bar on the Home Screen and Lock Screen at this point in time; it won't work inside of applications.

On the other hand, it does give you a little flexibility to have some colorization the way you might like it, so it could be something you might like to check out. If you want to give xStatusColor a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository. The tweak requires iOS 7 to be installed.
