On Monday, Microsoft updated the Skype application for iOS, bringing the application up to version 5.2. Skype for iOS was recently updated with a major redesign to make it look more like the Windows phone version of the application.

The update now offers users voice message support giving users the ability to send and receive voice messages to one another. This will save users' time, making it so they don't have to worry about typing things out.

Users will also find that it's easier to get to each other's contact profiles by tapping on the contact in the contact list and selecting the profile from the menu. Additionally it's now much easier to add participants to existing conversations, making group messaging even easier. This is done by choosing "add participants" from the menu section.

Other minor additions to this update include the ability to remove contacts from your contact list without having to block them and just some other general improvements for stability and security purposes.

Existing users of the Skype app for iOS will find the update under the updates tab in the App Store application. Alternatively, you can download Skype for free from this App Store link.
