Every once in a while, you might come across something on the Web or in text messages that you know nothing about and you might want to do a quick Google Search as a means of quick research to educate yourself. A new free Action Menu add-on called PopSearch by iOS developer Jat Waston is now available in Cydia to make this easier than ever.

The add-on adds a new button option to the Action Menu that appears when you select text labeled "Search+." When you tap on it, you are introduced to a pop-up box that lets you pick to search for the term(s) with Google, Bing, Wikipedia, or Amazon, as shown above.

We tapped on Google, and it brought up a search sheet with the Google search results for what we chose to search for. The Bing option would obviously do the same, but with Bing search results, and likewise for Wikipedia leading to Wikipedia search results and Amazon leading to Amazon search results.

PopSearch adds a toggle switch to the Action Menu preferences pane where you can enable or disable the add-on on demand. The add-on itself doesn't come with any options to configure.

If you would like to give PopSearch a try for yourself, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository. If you don't already have Action Menu installed, it will be installed alongside PopSearch when you download it from Cydia.
