It was announced by Apple recently that the iPhone and iPad trade-in program would be extended to customers in Australia. Users can now bring in their old iPads and iPhones and get a maximum of 250AUD to use towards a new device purchase. Apple’s official announcement was given to MSN affiliate ninemsn, and the maximum amount customers can receive for the iPad trade-in is 215AUD. However, the trade-in program does not include later iOS models including the iPad Air, iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

The later and newer devices are not eligible for credit towards a new device, and first-generation products will not be eligible either. Apple noted though, that these devices can be brought in for free-of-charge recycling. The trade-in program was first released in the United States in August of 2013, with the max amount being $280 for each device. The amount, given in the form of a credit, was to be used towards a new iPad or iPhone. Later, the deal was extended to other countries including Italy, France, Canada, Germany, and the UK.
