George Hotz, who some of you long-time jailbreaking fans may know better as GeoHot, has been out of the jailbreak scene for quite some time. He first became popular at age 17 when he hacked the iPhone, went on to hack the PlayStation 3, worked for Facebook for a little bit, and more recently released a rooting tool for the Samsung Galaxy S5. According to Wired, his past work has allowed him to build quite a portfolio for himself, one that was impressive enough to land him a position on Google’s Project Zero team, a group of hackers tasked with tracing vulnerabilities in software.

Earlier this year, Hotz was able to discover a “zero-day” vulnerability in Google’s Chrome operating system, which resulted in Google paying him a whopping $150,000 reward. Two months after his discovery and reward, Google security engineer, Chris Evans, reportedly followed up with an offer to join the elite group of hackers in finding and helping remove software vulnerabilities.

Although many of us might miss his contributions to the jailbreaking community, seeing him move on was inevitable. The last time we heard of GeoHot in the jailbreak scene was back in December when he was rumored to be working on an iOS 7 jailbreak with the thought of selling it to a third-party Chinese company. Despite him moving on, the jailbreak community still seems to be going strong as we continue to receive support from various other talented individuals.

Wish he would come back and work on iOS Jailbreaks. They seem to take a lot longer without him around. At the same time, I am glad he is doing well..good luck Geohot.

I kinda hate to say it, but why are we still following GeoHot around? I mean, he hasn't done anything iOS since iOS 4, and if I remember right didn't be kinda screw some people over releasing an exploit that could've been saved or something like that?

    ......beware......
    Just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!

It is a bit of a stretch but you can find those Macbook Air models for around $500-550, check your local classifieds and check often! Good deals go quick.

Unless those are the explicit prices that you're being offered, you're not getting a mac.
