For quick shortcuts to make your volume or brightness levels go to the minimum, maximum, or anywhere in between, check out a new free jailbreak tweak called BetterCCSliders by iOS developer Charlie Hewitt.

What this tweak does is let you tap on either end of the slider for brightness or volume in Control Center to adjust the level by a specific amount. If you tap on the right end, the level will go up, while if you tap on the left end, the level will go down. By default, the tweak is set to either increase or decrease the level by 100%, but you can actually configure your own increments.

For example, if you were to set the tweak to 25%, if you tapped on the right side of the slider, the level would increase by 25% each time you tapped on the right slide. If you were to tap on the left side of the slider with the same settings, the level would decrease by 25% each time you tapped on the left side.

The increments are set from a new preferences pane in the Settings application, as shown below:

The increments can be set to any of the following amounts:

    • 5%
    • 10%
    • 20%
    • 25%
    • 50%
    • 100%

All the tweak really does is offer another way to adjust the sliders without needing to grab and drag, so with that being said, it offers alternative functionality instead of new functionality. Nonetheless, we think it's a pretty cool way to adjust your brightness or volume via Control Center.

If you would like to give BetterCCSliders a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's ModMyi repository. As the tweak relies on Control Center, iOS 7 is required to install the tweak.
