Sometimes when trying to take a photo, you would like to avoid all the unnecessary attention that comes following the shutter sound. You can disable the camera shutter temporarily by flipping the ringer switch to the silent position; however, there is always that moment when you forget to flip it and your device makes that loud shutter noise.

For a more permanent solution, you can use a new free jailbreak tweak called NoShutterSound by iOS developer Andy Wiik.

With NoShutterSound installed, you'll never have to worry what position your ringer/silent switch is in ever again. This tweak disables the shutter sound from the Camera interface in iOS 7 no matter what position the ringer/silent switch is in.

It's also worth mentioning that NoShutterSound disables the shutter sound from all camera interfaces in iOS 7, whether it's from the Camera application, from the Lock Screen, or from a third-party camera application.

NoShutterSound doesn't have any options to configure. If you would like to give it a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository. iOS 7 is required for the installation.
