Do you do a lot of text messaging on your iOS 7 device(s)? Whether you're using SMS or iMessage, you might be able to benefit from a new free jailbreak tweak called MessageEnhancer by iOS developer BrandDev. As the name suggests, it will improve your messaging experience with new features and functionality.

MessageEnhancer will add a preferences pane to the Settings application after you install it where you can enable or disable on demand each of the features that the tweak comes with:

The enhancements to the Messages application that you can toggle on or off include the following:

    • Enable full-screen mode
    • Enable a dark keyboard
    • Enable contact photos in the messages list
    • Enable contact photos in the conversation
    • Enable a smaller messages list
    • Enable wide message bubbles
    • Enable auto-compose
    • Enable blue SMS bubbles
    • Disable the return key
    • Disable the "load earlier messages" button
    • Enable a bigger text field
    • Enable older messages at the top

The tweak also gives you the ability to hide or show the following elements in the Messages application:

    • Separators
    • Search bar
    • Bubble tails
    • Delivered label
    • Sending progress bar
    • Camera button
    • List chevron

For additional customization, the developer notes that MessageEnhancer is fully compatible with Messages Customiser, which we showed you back in January.

MessageEnhancer is compatible with all 32-bit iOS 7 devices, but 64-bit support will come in the future. If you want to give MessageEnhancer a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository.
