For those of you that are customization nuts and want to be able to configure the tint and blur levels of the user interface of iOS 7, there's a new free jailbreak tweak available in Cydia called Flurry by iOS developer dantesieg that will give you several options to get the look that you desire.

Shown above, Flurry will let you take complete control over several of the blurred interfaces of iOS 7, including Notification Center, Folders, Control Center, and even the Passcode Lock Screen.

Flurry adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure several options to get your tint and blur looking just the way that you want them to:

    From here, you can:

    • Enable or disable the tweak on demand
    • Configure your own blur level
    • Configure your own tint alpha
    • Configure your own grayscale tint alpha
    • Configure your own grayscale tint level
    • Configure your own saturation delta factor

You can then tap on the Respring button at the top right of the preferences pane to save your settings.

If you want to give Flurry a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository. It can definitely be used to create some really awesome visual effects that differ from Apple's out-of-the-box look, so give it a try! iOS 7 is required to install the jailbreak tweak.

Would this have a noticeable effect on battery life?

And slightly off-topic, but what tweak are you using to create those icon shadows? They look nice.
