Following the seed of OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 beta 1 to developers Monday night, the Cuptertino-based company followed up with a seed of iOS 8.1.1 beta 1 to developers for testing.

It doesn't look like the new iOS 8.1.1 release will have much to offer for users in terms of new features, but if you're using an iPhone 4s or iPad 2 running iOS 8, then iOS 8.1.1 will have some serious performance and stability improvements.

As we reported early on in the iOS 8 initial release stages, iOS 8 was reportedly very glitchy on the iPhone 4s due to the fact that the operating system was created with the larger displays of Apple's latest devices in mind. The iPhone 4s is the last of Apple's 3.5-inch displays to be supported by iOS 8, and will likely be phased out some time next year when the next iteration of iOS comes out.

Right now, since iOS 8.1.1 beta 1 is only available to developers for testing, the general public will have to have to wait for an official release in the next coming weeks. It's unknown at this point in time if the software will close the Pangu jailbreak for iOS 8, although we consider it unlikely.

    Stay tuned!

You don't have to be a dev to get the beta. I'm not and I'm running iOS 8.1.1 on my iPhone 6. Just make sure you do a full backup through iTunes first before you update.

Damn can't Jb yet cause I still have a 4s and an iPad 2. Hopefully Pangu comes out with a JB for 8.1.1.... Need to upgrade all my devices since they will be obsolete next year.
