But I must say that unjailbroken iOS is garbage though. For those who have never jailbroken their device I'm sure it's just fine, but for those who have jailbroken their devices (and have "properly" used the tweaks in Cydia), an unjailbroken device is simply utter garbage.
This is simply not true. While I certainly do enjoy jailbreaking and have enjoyed jailbreaking since the iPhone 3G, iOS 8 non-jailbroken is a million times better than rooted Android (of which I also have a great deal of intimate experience—been rooting BEFORE it was easy and I certainly did a lot more with it than simple theming) or Windows (never rooted a Windows device, though, but I imagine it's still pretty ******). And if not to the standard of its greatest competition, upon what imaginary standard is iOS 8 non-jailbroken "utter garbage?"

So what jailbreak features take an iPhone from worthless to great?

Apple should release an ad that just says 'hey microsoft, how are the sales going on those Windows phones? not great, oh thats too bad'
since windows is not a threat I think apple will be smart and save the ad money. They're probably like... "hey Micr... oh nevermind"

exactly. Thats why I am never upgrading as each IOS is worse than the last. I will stay on this as long as possible but Apple force you to upgrade. I'm sure they send out a ping to kill old versions of IOS and force you to update. I've had it happen twice now. When I was on IOS5 and IOS6 both times after the next firmware was released my iPad started crashing more often and gets really sluggish then it just refuses to reboot. It gets locked at the Apple screen. The iPad works fine before the new IOS comes out then a week later its really sluggish and crashes a lot more.
You cant say its a jailbroken thing as usually there is no jailbreak in the first month or more so no jailbroken apps are updated so that has nothing to do with the degrade. It all comes down to apple sending a ping to degrade forcing you to update. In earlier jailbreaks there was a switch to turn off the apple killswitch, I guess as we dont have that switch anymore thats why I cant stop it.

I dont want to reboot at all just in case it gets stuck at the apple screen. Last time I did reboot a few days ago it took about 15 mins before it was at the lock screen.

Anyway, the ad is correct. Siri doesn't do anything compared to what other devices can do. OR should I put it another way, the iPhone doesn't do half of what other devices can do. Well, the iPhone 6 can do pretty much what the Samsung Galaxy S2 can do but its still years away from doing what the Galaxy S4 but no where near a Galaxy S5. Its expensive junk if you ask me. I've moved on and never looking back. The iPhone is for fanatics and idiots with too much money to waste on crap like that.
I bet if you all went to a Galaxy S5 for 6 months you would look back and wonder why it took you so long to change and you also wont go back to apple. If you dont like Samsung there is always the nexus, HTC, Sony and others.
Can you Remote Play the PS4 on a iPhone? NOPE. Can you Remote Play on just about any Android? YES you can, there is a hack for that and it works great.

I don't know iOS eight in-jailbroken is still better than any version of droid and many times better than any phone with any iteration of Windows 8.

I'm curious as to how this is the case. If you really like jailbreaking, how is each iOS worse? It's all just the previous iOS but with more jailbreak tweaks added in.

Yeah really ios is fully functional w/o jailbreak! Calling garbage? What do you use your phone for anyway? Spend hours tweaking it? The jailbreak tweaks are nice but the majority of them are just that ...tweaks The USEFULLNESS of the phone is the apps. I like my jailbreak tweaks BUT I USE my phone for the apps, not games, screen designs/savers winterboard etc. These are all for personalising not USEFULLNESS!!

WHAT a close minded response! Calling us idiots!!!???? ANDROID cannot do and/or run the apps that I NEED on my iphone! I do NOT play games or need my phone to "emulate" a gaming console.

Same tired complaints, etc. every time. The billions of devices sold must go to "idiots" or the tech-retarded, because it's "garbage". You want a phone or tablet to control your Playstation (that's your criteria?) then go get one, enjoy it, and STHU about it.

Have been using iPhone since it first came out and using Cydia a year before the App Store even surfaced. While jail breaking is awesome, I think I still enjoy the iOS experience and wouldn't switch. I think you don't have to be a fanatic to like any of the devices. It just comes to personal preferences, some people like baloney and some steak.
I like Apple for many reasons, there on top.... and don't have time for "my product is better than yours".

Numbers don't lie, but here are a couple of things you'll never see for a Samsung, Microsoft, BlackBerry and especially a Amazon Device.

People standing in line, days in advance for those devices (they have plenty).

    Record number of devises.

To coin a sports phrase, don't hate the player hate the game.

I don't think they spend any money on bashing the competitor. They don't have too. They simply make commercials based on their devices and what they can do

Wow you are wrong, The Mac vs PC commercials did bash Windows PCs.
When it comes to Iphones they have not usually had such.

So Apple has bashed as far as PC

BTW I have an HP thin and light i5 going on 3 years old running Win 10 tech preview and its a joy to use. Since 1989 I have used PCs and since 2007 I have had zero viruses, Since Windows 7 no crashes.
I think all crap about how bad windows is just talk. ( I do hate windows 8, Vista was a big mistake to be clear I do not think M$ is perfect )

I agree with you, I hate "fanboy" crap, its not based on real facts just twisted facts to prove one is better than the other.

Apple makes a great phone and tablet I just wish they would allow it to be open.

Android is not as stable, but its pretty good on tablet.

Microsoft should get out of phones and stick to PCs, the phones and app store just plain suck

Just my take on it 😎

What commercial did they bash a competitor?

You just mentioned the commercial, so yes Apple us not above this morally, Apple started the "Fight"
Now Microsoft continues it. I feel bith are stupid and should move on.

It was not 8 years ago try the last ones just 5 years ago last one was airing with repeating into 2010

"Steve Jobs could sell. He did it in person, he did it on stage, and he did it on television—in the form of advertising campaigns that were often the envy of the business. Among the most beloved was the long-running "Get a Mac" series with John Hodgman and Justin Long as the bumbling PC and the hip, unflappable Mac—an odd couple who would entertain viewers for years with their quips, barbs, sight gags, and one-liners. In 2010, Adweek declared "Get a Mac" to be the best advertising campaign of the first decade of the new century. Below are all 66 TV spots (plus the long version of 2008's "Sad Song") that aired during the campaign's run, from May 2006 to October 2009. All 66 ads were directed by Phil Morrison of Epoch Films for TBWA Media Arts Lab."

    ( from adweek)

look I don't want to argue, you said devices and that is everything they make, a PC is a device. I hate the attitude Apple is perfect, they are not.

Lets just leave it at that.
