Just earlier this month we showed you a jailbreak tweak called Aeternum that brought the Apple Watch UI to jailbroken iOS 8 devices. On Tuesday, another popular jailbreak developer that goes by the name of Aaron Ash (the creator of Barrel) has just released his version of the Apple Watch UI to jailbroken iOS 8 devices by way of the Cydia Store.

Dubbed Watchboard, this new Apple Watch UI brings the Home Screen experience of an Apple Watch to your smartphone or tablet. Watchboard is energy efficient, works in both portrait and landscape mode, allows you to pan through the Home Screen icons, pinch to zoom in and out, and configure the Home Screen with various options.

The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure Watchboard's preferences:

From here, you can enable or disable the tweak on demand, choose between having circular Apple Watch-style or regular iOS Home Screen application icons, hide or show the application icon labels, and even configure the application icon spacing to your liking. Some examples of the options below:

Compared to Aeternum, Watchboard feels a lot more lightweight, although Aeternum has a lot more focus on animations, such as when they're tapped to launch them. Watchboard noticeably has its own application launching animation, but it's so fast that you can hardly see it, while Aeternum has a slower and more drawn-out animation style.

Watchboard is also $1 more than Aeternum, and seems to come with fewer user-configurable features. Aeternum allows you to have the iOS dock along with the Apple Watch UI, while Watchboard does not; Aeternum also has a reset icon layout option and places SpotLight at the center of the Home Screen and even works on iOS 7.

If you're looking for a speedier experience, you may prefer Watchboard. Those looking for more features and options may opt for Aeternum. In the end, both are amazing third-party re-makes of the Apple Watch UI and should both be considered before making your choice!

Watchboard is available in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now for $3.99. iOS 8 is required for the installation. You can watch our video review of Watchboard below:

No dock? Nope—even though Aeternum is a pain in the *** to re-arrange the icons on and changed the app switcher animation to some ol' bull. >_>

And it's still an impractical way to launch an application quickly. I like the concept, but I'm not hunting for my applications to launch.

That's where Aeternum actually has the advantage. SpotLight is always the center of attention in Aeternum – so you can just type in part of the name and launch from SpotLight while enjoying the view.

it "looks" cool but the functionality seems clunky.

This is pretty cool. I like it. the only issue I have with it is the customization is a bit limited. I would like to set it where I can't scroll up and down and if I had a option for the dock that would be awesome. I like it. Good jod devs

The original developer did an excellent job in programming and the display of the WatchSpringBoard tweak, it was awesome.

While each of the two other options are pretty nice, I wish the original version was kept as he had displayed it and simply added options to turn it off (with out having to uninstall it). It's kind of absurd that he did all the groundwork and these guys are charging so much.

    Hey that's just my opinion.
