When it comes to your Lock Screen, notifications will stack up quickly if you don't stay on top of them by monitoring your phone. In turn, this means a bunch of Lock Screen clutter, especially if you're a popular person. This doesn't go along well with minimalists; people that like having a uncluttered interface.

Fortunately, there is a new jailbreak tweak called CleanLock by iOS developer Alexis Rodat (alxtr1bal) that can help you keep these notifications organized and off of your main Lock Screen interface in a way that suits even the strictest minimalists.

With CleanLock installed, all notifications are hidden from the Lock Screen so that the Lock Screen maintains its minimalist interface; however, when an incoming notification(s) comes in, a red badge appears at the top right of the Lock Screen, as shown above. You can tap on the red badge in order to launch a hidden interface on the right side of the screen that shows you what applications you have notifications from.

In our case, we have notifications from the Messages application, so if we tap on the Messages icon in the interface, it will take us to the Lock Screen and show us all of our notifications from the Messages application. It works this way for all of the applications that you might have notifications for. When you have made your selection on what notifications you want to see, you can tap on the green "close" button to close the interface and return to the Lock Screen to see the notifications you selected.

More features that the tweak supports include:

    • Keeping notifications available on the Lock Screen even after you've unlocked the device to use it
    • Choosing what applications are allowed to wake the device for notifications on the Lock Screen
    • Having the ability to delete all notifications or just for the selected application on the Lock Screen
    • Configure the colors and behavior of the CleanLock interface to your liking

The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure the tweak's options to your liking:

    Options here include:

    1. Enabling and disabling the tweak on demand
    2. Configuring the look and behavior of notifications on the Lock Screen
      • Display or hide notifications
      • Choose color for notifications
      • Enable or disable the animation for notifications
      • Configure the applications that will not be able to wake the device upon notification
      • Configure what notifications are kept even after unlocking the device
      • Configure what applications to clear badges for
    3. Configuring the look and behavior of the notification drawer on the Lock Screen
      • Display or hide the app icon of notifications in the notification drawer
      • Display or hide the app name of notifications in the notification drawer
      • Display or hide a badge for notifications in the notification center drawer and re-size it
    4. And more

So far, CleanLock is looking like it's off to a great start for making the Lock Screen more efficient at handling notifications, although it could do with a more iOS 8-esque appearance instead of looking like something from iOS 6 that has been flattened out; appearance-wise, the tweak isn't very polished, but functionally, it's pretty solid.

If you're interested in giving CleanLock a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for 99. The tweak requires iOS 8 to be installed.

    Hi, i'm the author.

There's an update coming, i added more color settings for the drawer and badge.
I also try to add ipad support (lockscreen rotation)... but i don't have an ipad, so will wait for the testers.

Another update should be coming to a bug a user has encountered.

Submitted update today; for those interested

    - Withdraw notifications when you open the corresponding application and read the notification, per application (all apps selected by default, depends if the applications handle the withdrawal of notifications.)
    - New Translations : German, Malay, Japanese
    - Now you can :
    - completely disable drawer
    - disable pull to refresh on lockscreen
    - disable blur (when displaying notification)
    - Notification :
    - color : choose to take the average color of the latest notification.
    - change the size
    - activated alpha for the color (if you don't choose the option to have the app color)
    - Added a donation button :-) (well you know...)
    - Fix crashes in preferences pane (when you close and reopen , sometimes it crashed)
    - Attempt to Fix a crash from time to time when opening drawer
    - Attempt to fix the notification dot disappearing (x coordinate=0 !)
