Artless is a new free jailbreak tweak for iOS 7 and iOS 8 from iOS developer Ron Thakrar that can completely hide the Lock Screen's album art from the interface when you're listening to media in the background.

Although your album artwork is being hidden, the music controls and song information remain on the Lock Screen, as shown above. The tweak will appeal to minimalists that don't want their Lock Screen showing the image of what they're listening to on the display, and also just gives you a cleaner look that looks more professional all around.

If you're really wanting to spice things up, the developer recommends using Artless along with a popular jailbreak tweak called Spectral, which will still hide the main album artwork from your display, but will show a blurred background of the album artwork instead, as shown below:

The developer notes that the tweak is not only compatible with Spectral, but also a popular tweak called Blur Remover; in fact, you can even have both Blur Remover and Spectral installed alongside Artless for an even nicer-looking effect on the Lock Screen.

If you're interested in giving Artless a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository. There are no options to configure and iOS 7 or iOS 8 is required to install the tweak.
