On Thursday, the popular and free SwiftKey keyboard for iOS 8 received an update to version 1.2 in the iOS App Store.

SwiftKey, in this update, now comes with the tools necessary to accurately predict the Emojis that you're going to use. For example, if you're telling your wife "OK. Love You," the keyboard may predict the love smiley, as shown above so that you could use it if you wanted to. SwiftKey notes that more than 800 Emojis are supported at this point in time.

Additionally, the keyboard has received support for 11 languages:

    • Bulgarian
    • Croatian
    • Greek
    • Hinglish
    • Icelandic
    • Indonesian
    • Latvian
    • Russian
    • Serbian
    • Slovak
    • Turkish

Other improvements in this update include the ability to use SwiftKey Flow (the Swype-like key-to-key swiping) on the iPad, the ability to have keyboard click sounds while typing, and some improvements to the keyboard's layout and some bug fixes to improve the overall stability and usability of the keyboard.

If you're already a user of the SwiftKey keyboard for iOS 8, then you will find this update waiting for you under the Updates tab in the App Store application. If you have automatic updates enabled, this update will be installed for you automatically. If you've never used SwiftKey before, and you want to give it a try, you can download the latest version of the keyboard for free from this App Store link.

I think the stock keyboard is the best, they need to add only swype.

Keyboard on iOS is garbage, TouchPal is as close to AltKeyboard as it gets, sans akb's swiping.

I write 75% in spanish and 25% engish, TouchPal seems fantastic for that

I used to love the itypefaster keyboard from Cydia years ago... They have a now abandoned clipboard app on the App Store but I've been hoping it could be a third party system wide keyboard once again...

The stock keyboard + swipe selection is a winning combo too...
