Haptic feedback while typing on your smartphone's keyboard is when you get a slight vibration response from the device when you type using the software keyboard to simulate the effect of pressing on a physical key on a keyboard. Android has had this feature for years, while iOS still lacks it, and many iOS users have to have it.

There are lots of jailbreak tweak options in Cydia, many paid, but if you want to have free haptic feedback on your iOS 8 device, you can do so as long as you're jailbroken with a new free jailbreak tweak called KeyboardVibrate8 by iOS developer canshe.

The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can enable or disable the tweak on demand and configure the vibration time that occurs as you type on keys on your software keyboard. You will have to kill the keyboard with the included button in the preferences pane whenever you make changes here, but if that doesn't save your chances, a respring button is also available here to make sure they get saved.

If you want to give KeyboardVibrate8 a try, you can download it absolutely free of cost right now from Cydia's BigBoss repository. The tweak requires an iPhone, as iPhones are the only devices with vibrator mechanisms in them. The tweak requires iOS 8 to be installed.

How come it doesn't work? Only works in spotlight so far. Not in apps like messages or safari or modmyi app

I'm using a 6plus and it don't seem to work. Would I have to turn on vibrate, on my mobile for it to work???

You have to click Kill Keyboards in settings. Works on my 6+ 8.1.2 with these tweaks installed - handykey and exKey. Pretty cool i guess but typing this, its already getting annoying, just like the keyboard click sounds. The Jailbreak, however, is awesome.

Been using HapticPro for many years and it's never let me down. Works flawlessly on iP6+ 8.1.2. It's one of my favorites. Is it necessary to have haptic feedback? No, but it's great for typing quickly without looking at the keyboard, and after awhile, the phone will feel "lifeless" without haptic feedback.
