On Wednesday, Kik updated its messenger application for the iOS platform to version 8.0.0.

Kik Messenger has responded to the high volume of users that wanted to be able to share videos with those that they're chatting with, and not only pictures. The application will now allow users to record 15-second video clips from within the application that can be sent through the messenger platform to the person you're talking to, which is perfect for sharing an incredible moment.

The application has also received a variety of bug fixes and performance improvements that help the application's stability and reliability. Among the bug fixes is a problem that could cause the application to be unable to connect when data is disabled on the device.

Existing users of the Kik Messenger application for iOS will find this update waiting for them under the Updates tab in the App Store application; or if automatic updates happens to be enabled on a device running iOS 8, the update would then be installed automatically. You can also visit this App Store link to download the latest version of Kik Messenger for iOS for free.

I thought KIK was just a platform for teens to send pictures of their bits to one another?
