For those that want to animate their Lock Screen unlocking experience in iOS 8, there is a new tweak in town called Transition by iOS developer Javier Brito that offers a variety of new animation effects.

After being installed, the tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can enable or disable the tweak on demand, as well as configure the unique transition animation effect that you want to use for moving from your Lock Screen to your Home Screen:

All of the animations that you have to choose from include:

    • Random
    • Bars
    • Blur
    • Brightness
    • Bump
    • Distortion
    • Comic
    • Compress (a)
    • Compress (b)
    • Fade
    • Flash
    • Exchange
    • Glide
    • Gloom
    • Hole
    • Pinch
    • Pixellate (a)
    • Pixellate (b)
    • Scanner
    • Sphere
    • Split (horizontal)
    • Split (vertical)
    • Splash (a)
    • Spash (b)
    • Swipe

Because Transition is a Lock Screen to Home Screen transition animation tweak, it won't work as well if you have a passcode. We noticed that the animations would appear underneath the passcode keypad rather than while transitioning between the Lock Screen and Home Screen if you had a passcode enabled, which leads to a less desirable effect, so we would only be able to recommend the tweak to those without passcodes.

The developer recommends having a separate wallpaper on your Home Screen from your Lock Screen for the best results. If you're interested in giving Transition a try, you will find it in Cydia's BigBoss repository for $1.99.
