Hi, I keep reading about cases that have been affecting the flash on the iPhone 4's camera, as I look for decent protection for my phone. Does anyone have firsthand experience with a case that doesn't do this (aside from the obvious Bumper response)? I'd like an actual case for the phone, not a Bumper-like edge protector.

So far I've read this about the iFrogz and Griffin Reveal cases.

    Thanks.

a solution might be just buying the bumpers from apple
    i know their expensive

but also im thinking of just trying to cut a square or something
    we'll see

just get a case that has the holes cut for the camera and flash. Im using the Incipio that i picked up at AT&T, dont remember the model but its the black matte finish. It seems fine.

This photo was taken in complete darkness with the flash on auto:

The Incipio Feather is the case that appealed to me the most, so I guess I should be fine with it.

    Thanks.

I think I am going to get a screen protector for the front and back and then just get a bumper.

I stumbled upon a pretty good bumper alternative--it's made by Griffin, and it's basically a black bumper with a clear plastic shield on the back (with hole for camera/flash). May not be for everyone, but I've been pleasantly surprised with it: $5 cheaper than an Apple
Bumper, and it saves you from needing a back screen protector.

I have that same case (in white), but it does seem to reflect the flash and wash the pictures out :~( Here's some pic's. All I did was resize them to 640x480. First, here's the Case...

    PIC WITHOUT CASE

    PIC WITH CASE

It's definitely reflecting off the clear plastic and washing the pics out. I'm considering using the dremel tool to make the flash hole bigger.

I tested that Griffin case an got similar results. What a bummer. I ordered a bumper and am returning the Grif.

Just take a black Sharpie marker to the flash cutout area.

I put a Rocket Fish Soft Gell case on the Mrs.'s phone and it is flawless. Available at BestBuy.

I must counter the above. I picked up a Rocketfish gel case at Best Buy and returned it within a day. One of the loosest fits I've ever experienced in an iphone case. Acceptable? maybe, adequate? possibly, flawless? hardly.

Flawless. It is very snug. Maybe you got a bad case? I topped it off with a Zagg screen protector.
