Just recently I found a way to remove the slide to unlock without the hassle of downloading the slide to unlock killer and this and that. Navigate to /Library/Themes and choose the theme you want to remove the slide to unlock.
-Make a folder named bundles
-Make a folder inside bundles called com.apple.springboard
-Make ANOTHER folder inside that called en.Iproj
And in that folder, make a file and name it "Springboard.strings"
Copy and paste this into it

"AWAY_LOCK_LABEL" = "";
"POWER_DOWN_LOCK_LABEL" = "" ;
"SLIDE_TO_ANSWER" = "" ;
"SLIDE_TO_LISTEN" = "" ;
"SLIDE_TO_CALL_BACK" = "" ;
"SLIDE_TO_CANCEL" = "" ;
"SMS_LOCK_LABEL" = "" ;

And if you're too lazy to do all that, just download the attachment and drag and drop the folder into the theme.

P.S. If you don't have a theme, the only other way I know how to do this is the slide to unlock killer.

slide to unlock killer only makes the "slide to unlock" text disappear; you still have to slide to unlock.

Yeah thanks.. now all the strings on my ipod are screwed up. It says random codes on headphones and slide to unlock and stuff. Everything looks like this now.. "SLIDE_TO_UNLOCK_LABEL"

revert it back... and do you just hate the slide to unlock as you can get tap to unlock on cydia otherwise idk
