The first time i did it, it had an error right before it was done restoring. I tried to do it again but it kept saying error. What do i do?!
This is for a un-jailbroken ipod touch 5g, so if your jailbroken, there are easier ways to get the percentage.
I Never had a error following the steps exactly, so I cannot duplicate your issue. All I can suggest is to try again.

What is giving the error? IBackupBot or iTunes? You create a fresh backup to mod with iTunes but restore your modified backup with iBackupBot. So which program is giving the error and when does it seem to happen?

iBackupBot. I backed it up earlier around 6ish and so im using that one. iTunes isnt let me backup my ipod anymore right now. So is that why?

I can only take a guess as to what to do. I have never came across your error so I cannot give you a educated tested method to resolve your problem.

Maybe try the process from the very beginning, there may be a error in your modded version.

Try restoring from a un-modified backup in iTunes.

Then mod a copy of that with iBackupBot.

Save and restore back to your ipod the modded thru iBackupBot.

Other than that I don't know what else to tell you, sorry

Wow...it seems pretty impressive. I guess there are chances that we can tweak more setting with it. I ain't sure whether it will work on my iPod touch 4 or not.
I'm new to this field. Should I take a backup or something?

Hi, newby here. I tried this and it worked, however my status bar has gone from the black I like to transparent. Can anyone tell me how to get it back to black without losing the battery percentage? Note, I am not jailbreaking.

This Tutorial will show you how to add Battery Percentage to your iPod Touch 5G on IOS 6+ without jailbreaking.

    1. Download iBackupBot for Windows or Mac from here: iBackupBot - iTunes Backup Manager for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad

    2. Plug in your iPod Touch, Launch iTunes and create a current Backup of your iPod.

    3. Open iBackupBot, and click your latest backup located on the left side.

    4. Find Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard.plist in the right window and double click to open it,
hit cancel to bypass the registration notice.

    5. After <dict> type this exactly as shown:

    <key>SBShowBatteryLevel</key>
    <true/>

6 Press CTRL + s on your keyboard to save the file.

    7. Now Right-Click your backup in iBackupBot and hit Restore.
iBackupBot will now restore your device from this newly modded backup.

    8. Enjoy your new Battery Percentage Indicator on your unjailbroken iPod Touch 5G

Looks like Apple made another change again. It appears this method will only works up to IOS 6.1.2.
I am currently jailbroken and will not upgrade to IOS 6.1.3 unless there is a jailbreak available for it.
So I cannot test for alternative methods until it is safe for me to jailbreak IOS6.1.3. Sorry

will it be helpful for android phones? I have Samsung Galaxy Y and this mobile consumes a lot of battery if I work on internet.
All Android phone has this problem. When using data connection it will consume a lot of battery and also the phone will overheat. Use Juice defender ,it will reduce some battery consumption .

Got IOS 7 Beta 1 up and running today and implemented this Battery Percentage Tweak on my Non-Jailbroken iPod Touch 5G

It worked following the exact instructions I posted in the first post

I had my doubts that it would work because of people failing to get this to work on later versions of IOS 6.

The Geek in me just had to try it to see if it worked on the IOS 7 Beta

    Glad I did

Apparently they were not following the instructions EXACTLY as I posted in the first post, because if this works a on IOS7 Beta it should have worked on all renditions of IOS6+.

Ya, I have a feeling it would have worked just fine on 6.X.

Just tried it and keep getting error-1 from ibackupbot. The change never seems to take effect either. If I reopen the springboard file the part I added is gone.

Just checked online for that error. iBackupBots error code documentation is non-existent, I have to go by what others have reported worked for them to resolve that error.

They are suggesting to delete your old iTunes backup of your iPod Touch first,
then do a fresh New backup thru iTunes, and after that, open iBackupBot and point iBackupBot to your fresh New iTunes Backup.

On my device I had to run it twice for it to stick.

I went through the process once, after the device came back up from the iBackupBot's restore, the percentage wasn't there.

So I ran it again with the Last Fresh Backup I used and when the device came back up again from iBackupBot's restore the second time, it was there.

    Maybe I just got lucky

Good Luck Simon, hopefully this helps get you going bro

Won't even do the restore on mine. Just error 1 every time. Tried deleting the backup and doing a fresh one. Tried using windows and a brand new installation of iTunes (so no old backups at all). Still error 1. Even tried an older version of ibackupbot, still no go. What version are you using and do you have paid version or the free trial?

Just checked my iBackupBots version number, its V3.6.4, and I'm using the unregistered version.

I wish iBackupBot had online support for error codes, this way we could see exactly what the error is referring to and how to resolve it.

Im at a point that I dont know what else to tell you, I wish I could help more but I dont have the proper resources to correctly guide you through any iBackupBot errors.

    PM sent.
