hey i was wondering how to change the boot screen of the ipod touch from the apple to the text, like the boot screen on an ipod mini running on linux?

also, how do I change the backgroung of the springboard, or put my own wallpapers?

i checked tuaw.com, but i couldn't find the instructions to change the boot screen, so please reply with the actual instructions, or the actual website with the instructions

Experiment with terminal commands that you would use with OS X. For example, you could enter nvram boot-args="-v" and have your iTouch enter verbose boot when powered on. I think I read that something like "nvram oem-boot" and then something else would work, but I'm not exactly sure. Anyway, look around for things you can do with nvram on Google and see if they work on the iTouch, as long as you know what you are doing that is.
