Apple will be offering an hour-long class dubbed the Hour of Code workshop, from 5:00 P.M., to 6:00 P.M., in its retail stores on Wednesday, December 11th, in the hopes to get at least 10 million students interested in computer programming.

Apple hopes to help Code.org in making it known to potential computer programming students that computer programming is a great skill to learn in this day and age, and that anyone can do it if they put their mind to it.

Many public schools simply don't teach this skill, and students end up having to go to college just to learn the basics of it. Apple's small Hour of Code class is expected to get young students interested in teaching themselves how to code and to get them interested in testing their capabilities.

It appears to be a good initiative on Apple's behalf. Computer programming is a great career for the modern day, and with Apple being behind one of the largest application stores in the world, it seems to match their persona pretty well.
