Apple wasn't joking when the company announced plans to ramp up its retail presence in China.

On Monday, news came to light that Apple is now on a mini hiring spree across China in order to adequately staff a slate of new Apple Stores opening soon across the world's most populous mobile community.

As of this writing, Apple is on the hunt for at least six managers for new stores in at least six Chinese cities. The wave of store openings is consistent with company CEO Tim Cook’s stated goal of doubling Apple's retail footprint in the Asian nation.

The retail stores in question will be located in the Chinese cities of Tianjin, Chongqing, Wuxi, Zhengzhou, Shenyang, and Hangzhou. Bloomberg first discovered the hiring plans in response to a recruitment advertisement on Apple’s Chinese website.

For now, we don't know when the new Apple stores will open, but we're betting sooner rather than later, especially with the iPhone 6 expected in only a few short months.
