The first official Mac app for Buffer was released recently and it brings a simple way in adding content to the Buffer queue from the menu bar. Buffer allows users to share social media updates on multiple accounts at the same time on its web, Android, and iOS clients. However, with the official Mac app released, users can do a lot of the same using Mac OS X.

The app’s functionality is quite simple to use, but does not have the most of features like the full web interface. For example, if you are someone who likes to schedule posts during specific times, this app will probably be useless to you. However, if you are a user who only needs to add new items to the Buffer, the app will allow you to pick the account for which you would like to send to your queue. You can also drag images and/or links to the icon if you would like.

The App Store description of the app is as follows:

Any link, text, picture or video you want to share, just add it to your Buffer. Your updates will automatically be scheduled and spaced out throughout the day to post to your favorite social networks. Plus, any update can also be “posted now” inside the app.

Say you find 5 great articles and 2 funny images you want to share. If you post them all in a row, you might flood your friends and followers who are online – and totally miss those who aren’t. Instead, add these posts to your Buffer, and you’ll have great social updates for the next few days.
