The Cupertino California company recently updated its website with a new page that celebrates its acquisition of Beats Electronics and Beats Music. The new microsite marks the first time that Apple’s official website has mentioned the Beats acquisition. The page also links visitors out to the front page of the revamped Beats Electronics website where the Beats team leaves a message about joining Apple. The changes that have gone into effect starting today have led Beats Electronics to confirm the closure of its online store. Going forward, all transactions will be handled through Apple’s Online Store. Customers who make any Beats purchases are also being advised to contact Apple about purchases made starting today, August 1, 2014.

Apple’s new Beats-dedicated webpage contains the following welcome message:

    Welcome to the family.

Today we are excited to officially welcome Beats Music and Beats Electronics to the Apple family. Music has always held a special place in our hearts, and we’re thrilled to join forces with a group of people who love it as much as we do. Beats cofounders Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre have created beautiful products that have helped millions of people deepen their connection to music. We’re delighted to be working with the team to elevate that experience even further. And we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
Apple’s Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue, and Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller, sent Apple the following internal memo as part of the upcoming changes as well:

Today Beats officially joins the Apple family!

On behalf of all Apple employees around the world, we would like to extend them our warmest welcome.

Music is in our DNA. In Beats, Apple has found a team of creative and talented people who are as passionate about music as we are.

Jimmy Iovine, Dr Dre, and the team that has built Beats have created music products that customers love. And what we will do together is going to be even greater than what we could have done on our own.

This is going to be a lot of fun!
For those of you who didn’t already know, the European Commission recently gave its regulatory approval for the Beats acquisition by Apple. As a result, Apple decided to move forward with its plans as the company doesn’t expect much resistance regarding the matter in the US. As far as the US regulatory approval, it is being speculated that US regulators will be weighing in on the deal at an unannounced time during this fiscal quarter.
