In the aftermath of a major and embarrassing photo leak scandal involving both some of the world's best known celebrities and Apple's iCloud, it now appears that Apple is stepping up efforts to put users at ease regarding the security of their storied content on iCloud.

We've begun hearing from readers that Apple has started emailing them (providing both a date and time-stamp) whenever their iCloud account is accessed via a web browser.

"If you recently signed in to iCloud.com, you can disregard this email," Apple Support states in an email received by readers. "If you have not signed in to iCloud.com recently and believe someone may have accessed your account, you should reset your password at My Apple ID."

Last week, Apple addressed the iCloud image leak by reassuring users that iCloud is safe and that the celebrity photos were accessed as a result of targeted efforts aimed at specific celebrities only.

Looks like the wall around the garden is starting to crumble.

Terrible. Shame on apple for allowing such a breach. Did they not learn anything from the heartbleed scare?

Shame on Apple for allowing people to "hack" passwords like:
    Soccer123?

And shame on Apple for allowing people to download keyloggers (despite their ultra-high security on their iDevices that jailbreakers [like me] QQ about all the time)?

Sure, the fact that they got brute forced is problematic. Shame on Apple for that. But part of the responsibility also lies with people making ****** passwords and security questions that can easily be guessed. This was less a hack than it was simple social engineering.

Heartbleed has nothing to do with social engineering.

With Big Brother always watching and hackers being able to get there hands on just about anything computer related, posting naked pics on any resource is utter stupidity. Doesn't matter if you should be able to..its just dumb. I forgot its Apples job to create secure passwords for the masses as well haha.
