T-Mobile USA announced that it will guarantee the best trade-in value for customers’ used devices when they upgrade to a new device ahead of the release of the new iPhone. The offer is primarily geared towards attracting customers to switch to T-Mobile by offering them to the most money for their used phone. T-Mobile CEO, John Legere, said the following in a statement regarding the matter:

We're going to see some of the most phenomenal devices ever in the coming months, and that means a whole lot of Americans trading-in their devices and upgrading. For years, the big carriers have been ripping off their customers with low-ball trade-in values, so we're putting an end to that and guaranteeing we'll give customers what they deserve--the best value in the industry.
T-Mobile went as far as saying that the company will “track the market every day to ensure we keep our promise.” The carrier mentioned that if customers find a better trade-in offer from a major national carrier, T-Mobile will beat that offer and give them the difference back, even going as far as saying “because we value this help from our customer we will top it off with another $50!” It should be noted that this additional $50 will be paid as bill credit within two to three billing cycles.

T-Mobile’s offer will be launching September 17th, presumably 2 days before the release of the iPhone 6. Unsurprisingly, the carrier is also scheduled to make its “Uncarrier 7.0” announcement tomorrow, just one day after the iPhone’s unveiling. It’s unclear what T-Mobile is planning aside from the carrier mentioning the following “this time it’s personal.”
Will any of you be taking advantage of T-Mobile’s trade-in program?

Meh, you'll still get way more from private sale. Only suckers or the very lazy trade in.
