    In the beginning of the month, we reported that Apple had partnered with Product (RED) to support World AIDS Day on December 1st and help fight against HIV/AIDS. The campaign led Apple to change their signature white Apple logo at retail stores to a red color, as well as promote apps for the event in which proceeds were going to the charity. A recent letter sent out by Apple CEO Tim Cook noted that more than $20 million were raised and donated to the (RED) campaign this year. According to Re/code, Cook’s email read:

    "I'm thrilled to announce that our total donation for this quarter will be more than $20 million — our biggest ever — bringing the total amount Apple has raised for (PRODUCT) RED to over $100 million," Cook said in an email to employees. "The money we've raised is saving lives and bringing hope to people in need. It's a cause we can all be proud to support."
    The Cupertino-based company offered (RED) iTunes gift cards to customers who made qualifying purchases on Black Friday, and even teamed up with 25 app developers to have different (RED) themed apps in the iTunes Store. Apple has always been a big supporter of this specific charity as they used to make specific (RED) products in the past as well.
