China-based company Xiaomi has been one of the fastest growing companies in the smartphone market, but has also been widely known to copy Apple products from smartphones to tablets to even presentations. Xiaomi in Q3 even took one of the top 5 spots in the world for smartphone manufacturers. It seems like the company is ready to move on to laptops and has decided to copy Apple’s MacBook Air. According to Gizmochina, leaked photos of a MacBook Air-look alike laptop with the Xiaomi logo on it has been going viral on the Internet. It basically looks identical to a MacBook Air except with a swapped out logo.

The laptop is said to be only priced at about $481 while sporting 16GB of RAM, an Intel i7 processor, and have a 15-inch 1080p display. Xiaomi’s device is also supposed to run Linux but a customized version. The price tag is practically half of what Apple’s MacBook Air starts at but looks almost identical to the Cupertino-based company’s device. It was reported just recently that an additional $1.1 billion in funding was given to Xiaomi, giving the company a $45 billion valuation. Bin Lin, Xiaomi’s cofounder also announced that they would be announcing their flagship smartphone next month.

Everything from the keys to the color of the device looks almost identical to Apple’s MacBook Air. If you didn’t know better, you’d think the device being shown IS the Air. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments below.

Pathetic...typical...expect anything else from the wonderfully supportive Chinese government? This is how they both make their money!
