It's a watch, not a phone. But that hasn't stopped some from complaining that Apple Watch doesn't support the FaceTime feature.

Of course, that also doesn't mean Apple didn't honestly debate bringing a camera to the Apple Watch to possibly allow FaceTime over WiFi.

MMi has learned that NativeMobile will publish a report next week that delves into the heated internal discussions at Apple about FaceTime and Apple Watch. As we understand it, a lot of folks at Apple believe FaceTime would have made the first-gen Apple Watch a much hotter commodity out of the gate.

But, alas, we now know it wasn't to be.

But we're also told that the video chat feature has a "definite future" when it comes to Apple Watch. The only question remaining is whether prospective Apple Watch buyers will now wait another 12 months or so before the prospective Apple Watch 2 or second-generation Apple Watch becomes available.

    Should be an interesting read.
