I am looking at buying the above Mac book to replace my Dell Inspiron 1720. I have never had a Mac before, but have iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad and a iPod touch, so want to complete the set.

I have seen the below mac book:

    Apple Mac PowerBook G4 15" 1.67GHz
    160GB HDD
ATi Mobility Radeon 9700 -64MB Graphics
    SuperDrive Airport extreme wifi
    OS 10.5 Leopard

I used my Dell laptop for photograph storage and slight adjustments
    Web browsing
    Music storage using iTunes
I sometimes transfer camcorder footage to the laptop, again for storage.

My question is, will the above spec of Mac full fill my needs?

It doesn't meet your needs. Plus, it is very old and newer Mac applications only support Intel Macs.

The cheapest Mac avaliable that will meet your needs is the Mac Mini.

After reading your post, I was informed by my wife, that she had just bought this Powerbook I just hope they will accept it back.

I don't need it to do anything great, but my Dell had a Intel Core 2 Duo inside, so I don't really want anything that is going to be slow.

    Thanks once again

Intel Core 2 Duo isn't really slow.

15 and 17 inch MacBook Pros uses Intel Core i5/7 processors.
MacBooks, Mac Minis, and MacBook Airs uses Intel Core 2 Duo.
The upcoming Mac Pro will use Intel Xeon.
