hrmmm i dunno if it matters or not, but the sshkit i downloaded from the link provided in the wiki seems to be for windows (it has a whole bunch of .exe files and another file called (sshify-windows.bat')

I wonder if any of that makes a difference?

sweet i got somewhere with it
it has to do with the directory you are looking in
create a parallel directory in your local system that matches where the file is on your remote directory

yeah. nothing is working for me... one thing that was slightly different is that instead of:

    getfile /usr/sbin/update /phonedmg/sshkit/update.sh

    i tried:

    getfile /usr/sbin/update putfile /phonedmg/sshkit/update.sh

and it said 'transfer complete' but then i get the error i mentioned earlier on the next step (with the launchDAEMONS)

okay so i am new at this but i was able to install it
you have to becareful of what directory you are currently in
i made a directory for usr/sbin in my phonedmg
then i made sure i local directory was phonedmg
then try the command getfile usr/sbin/update

if that works then you should be able to continue on

    hmm...
im pretty sure i did everything you just said?

are you saying to make a folder in my phonedmg and name it "usr" then in that make another folder named "sbin" and then it will work?
i did that and it makes no difference.
if theres more or i did somthing wrong can you please specify it??

okay then type lpwd (i think)
if it just responds / you have to get to the right directory
    type lcd /users/<homedirectory>/phonedmg/sshkit
then check your remote directory (your iphone one) and make sure its at the root
    then type getfile /usr/sbin/update

tried that but i dunno what "check your remote directory" means

and when i type in lcd /users/kargod/phonedmg/sshkit

and type lpwd it says kargod/phonedmg/sshkit which i'm assuming is right...

but when i type getfile /usr/sbin/update i still get the same error

OKay. I just got done restoring and installing everything.

The first part of my problem is solved. Both numbers are now zero..

but on to the first big step, i get a mistake.

    i enter

    getfile /usr/sbin/update /phonedmg/sshkit/update

    and i get this back

    AFCFileRefOpen: opening remote path '/usr/sbin/update/phonedmg/sshkit/update'
getfile: Failed to open remote file: 1

    something is wrong.

all my previous posts were wrong. the problem with the guide is that it assumes that the local directory default of iphuc is your home directory when it is the root directory, just changeg the directory by
    lcd users/<username>
    and it works fine

really sorry for that other stuff. like i said, i am new at this

This is what I am getting

    (iPHUC) /: getfile /System/Library/LaunchDeamons/com.apple.update.plist putfile /phonedmg/sshkit/com.apple.update.plist
    remote: /System/Library/LaunchDeamons/com.apple.update.plist
    local: putfile
    AFCFileRefOpen: opening remote path '/System/Library/LaunchDeamons/com.apple.update.plist'
getfile: Failed to open remote file: 8

fail to open remote file: 8

I think the guide is written with some errors. Most of us are getting the same error. Something about fail to open remote file or something.

Personally, I can wait until something more user friendly is released

Tried this site but it is even more confusing. The reason being is that I am using the iPHUC.

OK now follow kargod guide on how to get things down. I noticed in the second command that he put putfile after the file that we are trying to get. This solved my problem. For my other error I misspelled LaunchDaemons so I got the error.

    Thanks kargod
