That sucks. We know what they are trying to do has no legal grounds and if you guys were to fight it, you would win. Problem is the money spent on lawyers and what not on MMi's part would not be worth it.

"CEO Blow Jobs of Lemon Computer Inc. said to day that the iCrap would no longer have a rechargeable battery and that when the original battery dies beyond the thirty day warranty period, the iCrap would no longer be serviceable and must be replaced. He will however, allow a $25 rebate on the $800 price tag if you send in your dead iCrap when you purchase a new one...."
    Question:
When the iCrap battery dies does it become an oCrap?

I'm glad you guys are hanging in there! Keeping this site running... its exposure is so big already nothing will stop your traffic as long as quality products continue to be updated and produced!

P.S. I had a great time breaking my first iphone last night! Thanks to the current technique on www.hackthei"f"one.com ("f" = ph)... not cool ... The WinSCP in step Two would not connect... so I got creative; My bad. Got a new phone with no problem though!

Here's the secret and a quick way to make your ifone unidentified/unsyncable by any computer. This will cause lost communication to the device via usb connection:

Delete all the visible "Hack" applications from your springboard... so it looks normal/stock. (DO THIS FIRST)

Now use "ibrikr" or other upload program to upload the file called " lockdownd" to the propper directery from the "lockdownd patched 1.1.1" directory provided in the rar file from www.hackthei"f"one.com. ("f" = ph) (as provided in the October 30th, 2007 technique for unlocking in step 1)

Make an appointment at your nearest apple store. (You must be using an AT&T Sim for service)

Tell them that it won't sync... They will try and it won't work for them either. They can't tell that you hacked it! ha ha ha. There is a fair chance your Youtube and e-mail will also stop working.

Finally, Just play the stupid card... say "It won't sync" and Bam... a new phone in just moments!

Good luck with your broken ifones and your new ones too!

I'm pretty sure that cash and pf said they consulted multiple lawyers. I know nothing in this situation about legal **** and that's why I don't make $160-200+ an hour but seriously people who the hell would want to spend money when all you do is get a new domain name. It makes sense that people think that they have the "balls" to fight a huge corporation but lets see what you think about it when you no longer have a house to live in or a car because you think that you can still win?? It's not about win or lose here at least to me. Things like this can take up a lot of court time which is cash money.

I'm just glad I found this website to begin with.

Then I think I'm going to register a domain with 'iPhone' in it, and paste a huge mock-up of an iphone in the center of the page, and put links to all the popular modding sites and forums. At the bottom, I'll post my name, address and phone number.

This is only minor; Apple's next business move will cripple us all, most likely, maybe something worse than 1.1.1.... Live in fear iPhone modders, we may not see spring if things get any worse...

This is stupid. They can't take away from our thunder though. This site is already known to be one of the greatest iPhone modding authorities out there. A domain change will not change the total users, hackers, and plain aficionados out there. I think that apple wants to just dissimilate this site from anything to do with their product, which, is sad because this site is probably the sole reason that many consumers actually purchase the iPhone! I'm an example of that! The more I read on this site, the more that I want the mobile! Though I don't need to unlock it, I just had thought that it was a waste. But not now. Long live this site, it's modders and everything that goes into it!

research the word "pod" in domain names along with apple, circa october 2001 0r 2002, i forget which year.

    my lawyers tell me otherwise.
Get a better lawyer! a real lawyer who has the gut to stand and fight!

I think you're targeting the wrong crowd. It's not the fanboys that are complaining. It's the fanboys that say things like "it's only a name change."People are negative because the iPhone is the center of Apple's change of philosophy. Apple isn't the company that it sued... whoops... used to be.Not true. This has zero to do with intellectual property. It's about their stance against modifications to iPhones. If it was truly about intellectual property, then they would have been going after every website that has apple, mac, ipod, iphone in their name. There are probably thousands of websites by now that Apple would have to target, and they aren't going to do that. They are only going to target websites that encourage behavior that is against Apple's new fascist philosophy.Again, it's not fanboys that "send letters with F bombs" to apple. Fanboyism is essentially people that protect and defend Apple to the death at all costs. If you want to look at a "fanboy reply", read yours.
