It seems there is a always a little bit of confusion when installing and using a file system on the iphone. So heres a little guide a I threw together for WINDOWS users to get their NES to up and running in minutes.

    install - openssh from apptapp
    install - NES from apptapp
    download winSCP in windows
install it and connect your iphone VIA usb

    then.

run winSCP it will ask for a few things

host name - (your wifi IP found in the WIFI settings in your iphone.)
    username - root
    password - alpine
    port - 22
    file protocol - SCP

and click connect. it will take about 30 seconds for the first time you connect to it, be patient.

after you connected. you will then see a list of items in the left, and right columns of this prog, we are focusing on the right side.

On the tool bar right below the word "default"
you will see the word "root" this is not what we want it to say...so click it and select the option "/<root>

this will open the file system on the iphone.
now we see a long list of "directories" to create the correct directories for installing Nintendo Roms follow this path and STOP

find dir VAR and open it
    another list pops up
find dir root and open it
    another list pops up
    find Media and open it
    another list pops up

    but stop here.

Right click Any where in the WHITE area and Select "New" ---> "Directory"

this will ask you to name the new directory, name it exactly like this excluding the quotation marks
    "ROMs"

Now click ok and it will create it for you.
now open the ROMS directory you just created, and do the same procedure:

Right click Any where in the WHITE area and Select "New" ---> "Directory"

this will ask you to name the new directory, name it exactly like this excluding the quotation marks
    "NES"
open it, and it will be a blank screen.

this is where you will "drag and drop" roms.
****DO NOT "drag and drop" It in a zipped folder. Please Extract it until you get a file that is something like this: "gamename.nes".

If you put it in the NES directory as a folder it will Just Create a pointless directory that HOLDS ONE GAME.

You do not need to restart the phone when you install a new ROM just exit out of the NES application on the phone and relaunch it.
    See New games

    There. Easy as PIE.

haha well this is the exact steps i took like three seconds after i jailbroke 1.1.1 a few weeks back.
yeah i thought that to. but when winSCP wouldnt let me authenticate and connect to the host, I was stuck with the installer, and launcher. and NES icon that had no roms in it. So i had to try a few things to make it work, and when i installed bsdsub, and openssh, it let me connect to the iphone and thus gaining read/write access to the phone.

ive also tried the Newest jailbreak method, "jailbreakme.com" works perfectly with that one too. but theres a problem with iphonebrowser and previous file browsers that were in use before this new development, they don't realize you have indeed jail broken successfully. I couldn't figure out how to get any of the other file browsers to work, maybe in doing something wrong. but yeah. openssh allows the iphone to be connected to with winSCP no problem.

Ibrickr is so much easier. All you have to do is place roms in var/root/Media/ROMs/NES and your done. Only work is to download roms and extract them. Then all you have to do is place them in var/root/Media/ROMs/NES and your done

go to your wifi options in settings by clicking the blue icon beside the name of the connection, then it will say your IP. if you are on a router

    should something like this. 192.168.0.X
X should be a 2 4 or a 6. atleast thats how it is on mine.

if you are on firmware 1.1.1
    PW is alpine
if you are on firmware 1.0.2
    PW iss dottie

as far as i know, not until a new ibrickr software is developed specifically for the 1.1.1 firmware.

I mean i will be gladly to assist anyone in step by step instructions VIA aol instant messenger. Just let me know and we will start from the begining

i ended up using my usb to get a rom on but does anyone know how to create a folder in the iphone without using winscp?
For some reason iphonebrowser will not realize that you have read/write privileges with this new method of jailbreaking the firmware 1.1.1

if you use CARNAVALs jailbreaking tool, then you should be able to use iphonebrowser. Hopefulle, programmers will begin development on modifications to there already amazing software and have like a patch to install so you can use progs like iphonebrowser with the new method.

but until then openssh and progs like winSCP are all we have

    yes you do.

you need to get the IP from your wifi setting in your phone.
then connect to it using winSCP. its called a host name.

    heres what you do then
go to wendys, or mcds, or a library with like free wifi

make sure you have installer on your iphone, get the NES app.
then there is a package you can install from the Apptapp itself. called NES roms
    it has all the classics.
