Mac developer Ecamm has posted a sneak peak of iPhoneCam, an application that uses your iPhone's camera as a wireless Mac webcam. You can stream video from your iPhone over its WiFi to any Mac video application, including iChat, Photo Booth, or Skype.

I have participated in one iPhone chat and while it's not exactly the most comfortable way to use a webcam, you've got to admit using an iPhone is way up there on the cool quotient. You can watch a demo video here.

It would be awesome if someone made an app that made iPhone like a wireless video host. iPhone joins wireless network and then one would log onto the iPhone from a PC via network IP and be able to pick up the feed and record it.

Would be cool for like parties to be able to just carry the iPhone around and record.

How long is the delay when you view it on another computer? Qik is cool for broadcasting live video, but the delay is always at least 5 seconds - sometimes even a minute for some people. I hate delay.

Try iCam or AirCam both in AppStore. They are reasonably priced and work well.

i prefer iCam (it lets you view 4 different cameras at the same time.)

@danvicente-i looked at both of those apps, they allow you to view web cam feeds, but i think the original poster wanted to turn the iphone's camera into a webcam.

have you seen any application like this?
