Please don't anyone take this the wrong way but what I truly think it comes down to is this... if you don't feel comfortable doing the modding of your iphone manually then you shouldn't be doing it.

--WARNING: The creator of this application plans on profiting from it once Leopard and the iPhone SDK are officially released. It is closed source and not a community effort(except for the repositories). It could potentially have malicious code that could damage your iPhone.
I mean come on, why risk it on your nice shiny iphone?

Well hey, by all means profit from it if you build something incredibly useful like this.

Course, then we'll build a free version.

Copying a folder to Applications ain't hard--it's just grunt work that Installer lets me avoid. I can change the oil in my car too; doesn't mean I wanna do it all the time.

I just installed this and when I run it, it does nothing but comes to the installer app with nothing in there, and you cant hit the about, refresh or anything, and then about 10secs later returns to the home screen, almost like it crashed, rechecked everything and still cant get it running.

You need to chmod +x Installer and chmod +x ditto

Thanks I ended up fixing it by seeing another thread where someone said chmod all files to 777 inside the installer.app and that worked.

    So...according to http://iphone.nullriver.com/beta/

the installer is suppose to have games and some other programs that I do not see...Does everyone else have those? I dont see NES either.

    In my sources I have;

    http://smxy.org/iphone-apps/
    http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/
    http://iphone.exploit.org/
    http://iphone.deathtodesign.com/

    Am I missing a source?

I think you are missing the Nullriver source, its own builtin source with the installer.app. Its pointed to http://iphone.nullriver.com

I have the latest installer app. Question: What does the 130+ MB free at the bottom line actually mean? I have over 6GB free on the iphone.

That is the amount of space available on the partition for the OS, which is separate for the partition used by songs, photos, etc.

Navigate in your phone to var/root/Library/Installer

you are going to want to modify the PackageSources.plist

or you can just use this one and replace it

mine has 0 mb left! And now I can't transfer any songs from sendsong to ringtones. and I have like 25 that are on my ringtone list but dont make any sound. I don't know how to delete them... Any ideas?

Also, I can't install or uninstall anything on installer.app anymore. It says an error occured when I try to.. only a few apps I'm able to do anything to. Anyone have that issue/have any suggestions?

Damn, you must have a lot of ringtones, lol.

Navigate to var/root/Library/Ringtones through WinSCP or whatever you use and you can delete the ring tones there.

I've had several issues with this program. Though in the end, a restore, and a start from scratch seems to fix everything, though take up a bit of time..

    but hey.. I can deal

my lastest issue was having 0kb left of space displayed on the bottom, and couldn't install/update/uninstall anything. but another restore and I'm good

I assume you mean navigate via a SMTP client like Fugu? or with finder? b/c I'm still having issues with both.. If anyone would like to help me out I'd REALLY appreciate it. If someone could email me at [email protected] or IM at jujubeanser

    thanks
